Recipe: Homemade Biscuits

Hello!

I thought I'd share my go-to biscuit recipe with you all. Now I'm not going to lie I don't always make homemade biscuits sometimes I buy Pillsbury frozen which are good too but it's always nice to make them from scratch.

What you'll need.

2 cups Flour
4 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
3 teaspoons Sugar
1/2 cup Shortening
1 Egg
2/3 cup Milk

Add flour, baking powder, salt & sugar to bowl and mix. Then cut in shortening, once it looks crumbly add milk and egg. Then combine using your pastry cutter. Lightly flour your counter top and roll out your biscuit dough. And cut out biscuits.

Place on a baking sheet or in a greased cast iron pan. I personally prefer them in cast iron for the baking and presentation aspect.

Bake at 450° F for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 12

Eat & Enjoy

~Emily
