DIY Christmas: Homemade Christmas Crackers | The Perfect Holiday Party Favor

Hello! Lovelies

Christmas parties and dinners are in full swing. Why not be the hostess with the mostess this Christmas?! Todays DIY is how to make your very own Christmas Cracker and if you don't happen to live in the UK or a commonwealth country you just might not know what they are here's a little info via Wikipedia:

"A cracker consists of a cardboard tube wrapped in a brightly decorated twist of paper, making it resemble an oversized sweet-wrapper. The cracker is pulled apart by two people much in the manner of a wishbone, the cracker splits unevenly. The split is accompanied by a mild bang or snapping sound produced by the effect of friction on a shock-sensitive, chemically-impregnated card strip (similar to that used in a cap gun)."

Now my DIY doesn't feature the popping noise that traditional crackers do because I don't know where Id buy the cracking strips but maybe if you live in the UK you might be able to find them or buy online.

Supplies you'll need:
Toilet Roll Tubes
Tissue Paper
Bakers Twine
Candy
Jingle Bells

Scissors
Ruler
Pencil

1. Measure out your tissue paper 8 1/2 x 9 3/4 inches. Place tube in the middle towards the edge and tape with clear tape. And roll up, once you've rolled it up tape that side as well. 2. Cut two 10 inch pieces of bakers twine and place a jingle bell in the middle and tie around the end. 3. Place your candy in the open end (how ever much you want or will fit). Then tie up that end as well.

If you've happened to ever have a real British cracker they come with paper crowns and little plastic toys. So if you are making these for young children you could always go to the dollar or party store to find little toys. But since I am making mine for adults I just used chocolates.

If you make these for yourself I'd love to see how you add your personal touch so please share a picture and tag me on Instagram or Twitter @ChicCountryGirl

I hope you enjoy this DIY and have a lovely week, Only 10 days and counting until CHRISTMAS!
