Makeup Monday: Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick Vs. Everlasting Liquid Lipstick | Underage Red

Hello, Lovelies!

Kat Von D's Underage Red lipstick has become my number 1 lipstick for nearly a year now. It's the perfect shade of red and is a great matte formula. For awhile now I had been wondering how it compared to the liquid lipstick version in the same shade. So this past week when Sephora was offering 3X rewards points I thought that would be the perfect time to try it out.

Like I said before I have been wearing the lipstick version at least once a week or more for about a year now. The liquid lipstick I've tested out twice wearing it in hot weather for 10+ hours each time. Both formulas are matte and long wearing. And each are nearly identical in shade. But both wear a bit differently.

 Lipstick:
This lipstick is beautiful. I love it. There really isn't anything bad I would say about it.  Easy to apply, no need for a lip liner. But if I had to come up with one thing it would be transfer. When I eat or drink the lipstick does transfer to anything it comes in contact with. Also it does tend to smudge off on to my teeth. Which isn't always the greatest look.

I've done a full review on this version in the past if you'd like to read it here.

Liquid Lipstick:
This liquid lipstick is just as beautiful and long wearing as the other. The one thing I don't like as much is applying it. I find applying the lipstick version easier. Which is funny because most people say the opposite. But if I am out and about and want to freshen up id rather have a lipstick than a liquid lipstick. But on the plus side, the liquid doesn't transfer when I eat or drink. It stays put. I also haven't noticed it on my teeth. Once it dries its set which is nice for eating, drinking & nights out. On that note this formula is more drying to the lips which doesn't bug me but might some. So if that's something you don't like id go for the other.

Over all I love them both. Each have there pluses.

If you are on the hunt for the perfect red I'd give either of these a try.

  1. It honestly looks like the perfect red! Glad to hear you like them so much. I'd probably go for the liquid as I find it easier to apply usually, and I always get lipstick on my teeth - which somehow doesn't happen with liquid lipsticks. Maybe because they set so much quicker? I dunno. Anyways, lovely post and photographs!
