Review: L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream

Hello, Lovelies

So recently I've been wanting to test out some new bb creams in preparation for the coming months that will be warmer. Even though as I'm writing this we are having a snow storm.

If you haven't ever used a BB cream before you use them in place of a foundation. Depending on what you want to cover. I have acne scars and break outs so when I use bb cream I use concealer as well. If you have nice skin or you're not wanting to cover a lot but still want something with a bit of coverage a bb cream would be perfect for you.

Sorry for low quality picture, I had bad lighting.

BB cream only recently became available in North American stores. When American brands started making their own versions. It came from Asian countries like South Korea, & Japan. But now western brands have come out with their own. You can find them at high end places like Sephora or even Walmart & Target.

BB stands for blemish balm or beauty balm. It was first developed by a German dermatologist in the 60's a then later used by Asian markets in the 1980's.

It is an all-in-one facial cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock. You can use alone kind of like a tinted moisturizer or like I said before more of a foundation by building up the coverage and adding concealer & powder.

Now on to the review.

This is the 4th BB cream I have tried. And it stands out from them all. First off it's white. I thought "well that's strange" I thought well maybe I need to shake it before I used it but nope that's just how it is. Once you blend in into the skin it brings out the color. Which was kind of fun (the small things in life make me happy).

I really enjoyed it. It gave me a nice coverage and color, I bought the shade light which actually seams a lot darker than you'd think. I have a light olive skin and I would say if your really pale that I don't think this would work for you. I wish American bb creams had a larger range in colors. Even though it was originally marketed for lighter skin. American BB cream is more for everyone.

Pros:

Nice Coverage. Goes on easy, Just use your fingers.

Cons:

Color range

Would You recommend?
Yes, I think I would

Rating:

 4 stars ★★★★

Have you tried this? I'd love to hear how you liked it. Also if you haven't, What is your favorite bb cream?

Love,
Emily

  1. I have been trying the Garnier BB Cream. I really like it so far. It doesn't feel greasy on my skin and it seems to cover pretty well too :)

  2. Just wanted to mention it also comes in "fair", which is much lighter than "light".
